Cold Intense Pulse Light (IPL)

Unsightly and unwanted body and facial hair is something almost everyone struggles with. Many people have tried shaving, tweezing, waxing and depilatories. Others have chosen tedious and painful electrolysis treatments. Our intense pulse light (IPL) uses clinically tested wavelength to permanently disable hair growth from the roots, with zero downtime. It's a swift, comfortable, and safe way to permanently reduce unwanted hair to reveal your smooth silky skin. What's more, you get no unsightly bumps, rashes or ingrown hairs unlike waxing or shaving.
SHR Super Hair Removal
Patented and FDA approved in the US, this advance treatment exudes low fluence quick repetitive light to remove unsightly hair at undesirable areas effectively. It is painless as the light treatment has contact cooling from the SHR handpiece which creates a comfortable experience rather than the hot sensation from conventional machines.
Latest hair removal technology, good for hair that does not respond to traditional IPL such as darker skin types, blonde hair, fine hair, history of burns with IPL. And because SHR is a much more effective and painless advanced technology, it will be more pricey than the conventional IPL treatment but definitely worth the value.

How does the 3G "Cold Tip" IPL Hair Removal work? The system targets the pigment located in the hair follicle. The light from the system is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle and this energy is converted to heat which results in thermal damage to the hair follicle. This thermal damage causes permanent destruction of the hair follicles. Simply stated, the darker pigmentation of the hair follicle absorbs more energy than the pigment in the surrounding skin. Therefore the system raises the temperature of the hair follicle safely without damage to the surrounding skin. Unlike electrolysis, which kills one hair follicle at a time, the 3G IPL NANOLIGHT reaches and treats hundreds of follicles at a time.
Back to FAQWho is an ideal candidate?IPL hair removal is not for everyone. The absolute requirement is that one's hair must be darker than the surrounding skin. Additionally very darkly pigmented people absorb too much energy in their skin and are not candidates. Tanned patients with light hair are not candidates. Tanned patients with dark hair must wait until their tan fades before they can be treated. Lastly the treatment cost should be within reach of the patient. Light activated hair removal, although much less expensive than electrolysis, requires multiple treatments, and generally costs over $1000 for most anatomic areas.
Back to FAQIs it safe?Yes! The systems beam has been carefully designed for selective destruction of hair follicles with no damage to the surrounding skin.
Back to FAQDoes it hurt?A unique component of the system is the actively cooled hand piece "cold" tip which has been designed to conduct heat away from the skin during the operation. This cools the skin and protects it from injury. The cooling tip has a mild anesthetic property. So no pain at all.
Back to FAQHow many treatments are needed? The system is most effective in the treatment of follicles that are in the active growth phase at which there is an abundance of melanin which the system targets. However, not all hairs are actively growing at the same time. Hairs actually go through three distinct growth phases: active growth, regression and resting. Therefore, because the system is most effective for hair follicles that are in the active growth phase, more than one treatment may be required to remove hair follicles. However, one treatment may result in a significant enough improvement that it may be all you desire or require. On the average four to six sessions will be necessary depending upon a patient's skin and hair type. The interval between sessions is approximately four to five weeks.
Back to FAQAre there any pre-treatment restrictions?Yes. Any amount of suntan will make the treatment less effective and increase the chances for an adverse effect. Therefore sun bathing and tanning are to be avoided prior to the procedure. Additionally, as the follicle beneath the skin contains the melanin that the system targets waxing, plucking and electrolysis should be avoided for several weeks prior to the procedure. Additionally, the system should be avoided in cases of active outbreaks of cold sores or Herpes Simplex virus.
Back to FAQCan there be any complications from the 3G IPL nanolight treatment?Yes. There have been cases reported of temporary lightening or darkening of the skin following atreatment. There are no known permanent complications from the IPL hair removal system.
Back to FAQHow is 3G IPL nanolight hair removal different from electrolysis?Electrolysis works by the use of an electric current delivered through a small needle or electrode which is passed through the skin and, hopefully, into the hair bulb beneath the surface of the skin. There are several drawbacks with electrolysis. Firstly, the electric current can damage normal skin around the hair follicle resulting in scarring. Secondly, since it is impossible to see the hair follicle which is being treated, the practitioner cannot be certain that the electric current is being placed in exactly the right space. As anyone who has had electrolysis can attest, electrolysis can be exceedingly painful. Our "Cold Tip" Hair Removal IPL has a "cold tip" that cools the skin as the light pulses heats up the skin area, this leaves a comfortable cool feeling no pain at all. Therefore, electrolysis is more costly, slower, and most dangerous when compared to IPL hair removal.
Back to FAQWhat areas can be treated?Any area, except adjacent to the eye, where there is excess hair. The most common areas requested are the face, upper lip, neck, chest, periareolar, underarms, back, abdomen, bikini line, and legs.
Back to FAQInfluence of skin color on light activated hair removal.Light skin makes light activated hair removal easier to perform. Fewer treatments are required, and better, faster results are obtained. People with darker skin can be treated, but results are slower, more sessions are required, and greater expertise is required on the part of the center. Light activated hair removal must be individualized for each patient.
Back to FAQInfluence of hair color on light activated hair removal.Dark hair absorbs more of the system energy and is easier to treat. Coarse dark hair responds the best to light activated treatment. Light hair is more difficult to treat. Blonde or red hair is very difficult to treat. Multiple treatment sessions are required, and results are variable. Blonde or red hair usually contains pheomelanin, which absorbs energy less avidly than the melanin pigment which is present in black or brown hair.
Back to FAQBeta-carotene and light activated hair removal.Beta Carotene, found in carrots, vitamin A supplements, squash, and other vegetables, is deposited in the skin, producing a subtle orange or yellow color in the skin. This pigment absorbs energy, preventing it from reaching the hair follicle, and increasing the absorption of energy in the skin. Beta carotene persists for months after ingestion. Those interested in the best results from light activated hair removal will benefit from discontinuation of the use of all forms of beta carotene.
Back to FAQLight activated hair removal and children.IPL hair removal is successful for children but it does require their cooperation and consent of both parents.
Back to FAQWho should not have light activated hair removal?Clients with a recently acquired dark tan. Blondes or redheads with any recent tan. People of color with fine, light hair. Anyone who cannot afford multiple sessions (one treatment is rarely adequate).
Back to FAQMyths 1: light activated hair removal has limitation of effectiveness.Contrary to the statements of those unfamiliar with this new technology, IPL hair removal is effective when properly performed for the great majority of candidates. Non-responders are usually limited to those with blonde or red hair.
Back to FAQMyths 2: no side effects, no pain. You may come across claims to the effect that with IPL systems, there are no side effects and no pain. The above statement is true only if the system is used on low power. Low power treatments give long-term rather than permanent results. There will be no re-growth from 4 to 12 weeks depending on the area. These treatments are characterized by:
- Very little discomfort.
- No side effects such as skin marking except perhaps some mild redness for an hour or so.
- Long-term absence but not permanent removal of hair.
You will need to return for periodic treatments just as in waxing, although the intervals between treatments will be longer. Also the hair may diminish and become finer.
Back to FAQImportance of experience in selecting a light activated hair removal facility. Experience is crucial in selecting the proper parameters to use for any given area for any individual. Centers with the most experience generally have the best results.
